Notes will include:

How legs support platforms.

How diag. bracing keeps legs upright.

Process, notes, outline, descriptions, script for teacher.

Set up small sample of "house of cards" using 1x3.

Show how easy it is for this to fall over.

Ask why

in groups, Have students build their own.

Ask them to create a device to keep it from collapsing.

Add tie line as diag. bracing. Then show how it stays up in one direction.

Ask why.

SHOW TRIANGLE FORMED

Ask how to keep from falling the other way. (looking for two answers here)

1) add second tie line from other side.

2) make diag. bracing stiff.
